Hardware Specifications
LONGVIEW INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
2013-2014

Current Minimum Specifications for Repair or Donation of Computers: A computer that does not meet the following specifications will not have faulty hardware repaired by the Technology Department, nor will donations of computers with less than these specifications be accepted.

Processor: Intel Pentium Dual-Core
Memory: 512M
Hard Drive: 40G
Operating System: Windows XP Professional


Current Minimum Specifications for Purchase of Computers: A new, supported (See Appendix F) computer must be chosen from the current quote list or specifically approved by the Technology Department; however, the basic specifications currently used are below:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
Motherboard: True Intel board or an Intel chipset board that has passed LISD testing
Hard Drive: > 40G SATA
Memory: 2G
Video: Approved NVidia/AMD/Intel Chipset
Network: 10/100/1000 Intel Chipset
5GHz 802.11n capable wireless


Current Minimum Specifications for Repair or Donation of Printers: Parts availability and price determine the feasibility of maintenance and repair to any particular printing device. Printers that do not meet the following specifications will not be repaired nor will donations of printers with less than these specifications be accepted:

Type: True Laser Technology for Black and White Printers (No LED or Thermal)
True Laser or Solid Transfer for Color Printers (No LED or Thermal)
Age: < 4 years and toner and parts available as commodity items
