The computer placement goals of the Technology Department are outlined in this document. Where funding is available directly to the technology department, priority will be placed on instructional computers in the order that the placement goals appear. Unless otherwise noted, the expectation is to have computers that meet the current minimum computer specifications. Other funding sources are welcome to purchase computers, but the replacement plan (See Appendix C) must be kept in force to allow for proper maintenance and repair of district computers.

Computer Placement Goals for General Instructional Computers:

A minimum number of library computers with the following quantities of computers in each library:
High Schools: 25 computers
Middle Schools: 8 computers
Elementary Schools: 4 computers
A minimum of two multi-use computer labs per elementary campus
A minimum of three multi-use computer labs per middle school campus
Computer lab with the following quantities of computers in each lab:
Middle Schools: 30 computers
Elementary Schools: 30 computers
One High School integration lab with 60 computers
A minimum of two computers in each elementary and middle school classroom
A minimum of one computer in each high school classroom
A 1:3 ratio of general instructional computers to students
